This one-pager was the result of a project prompted by my Information Design professor, Pedro Cruz. The project was inspired by our studies of Oliver Bryne's logical prepositions, Edward Tufte's sparklines, and the isotype system profligate by Rudolf Modley and Otto Neurath. The idea was to make an information-dense narrative text pointing out several facts that unveil racial inequality in the United States, either from a contemporary or historical perspective.
I started by researching the matter, reading many articles, studies, and surveys. After I collected the data, I turned my findings into an essay. Then I pulled out the sentences that said the data with words and showed it visually with sparklines, isotypes, and logical prepositions.
The result is a double-sided letter-size paper discussing the sad reality of the correlation between class and race in America.
