I created Margot for my typography III course with Professor John Kane. Tasked with creating a body typeface, I looked to old-style serifs for inspiration. What I love most about old-style typefaces is the human imperfections in each of the letters. If you look closely at Jenson or Bembo, you will see that no letter matches another, each their own drawing.

Determined to give Margot the same unique liveliness, each letter was hand-painted in watercolor and then traced digitally.
